Last week we celebrated Sammy in a very festive way! Kidchella style to be more specific!
The theme came to life after exploring all the fun activities we could incorporate with the party, such as Flower crowns, tattoo station, bracelet making and dance party!
Our fabulous friend Neydi from Neydi Photography helped us capture the party through her magical lense.
For the first time in a long time we were ahead of schedule and everything was ready to go for some before details pictures. But then my happy heart of being ahead of time on set up was tested when a BIG rainy cloud decided to literally rain on our parade for like 20 mins straight!!! So we quickly had to remove all linens, all pillows, take the cake and desserts inside, move the goodie bags ladder, etcc etcc. It was a HOT MESS! But thankfully everybody kept their cool and was very hands on once the cloud cleared up! So we quickly set everything back up and none of the guests knew what had happened minutes before they arrived! (The perks of having all your friends and family always being late to parties! #hispanicfamilies lol!)
(You can still see some water from the rain on the table!)
Ok, enough about the story time, and now into all the details:
The first thing the guests saw when they arrived was our Treats Ladder that was being used for all the flower crowns/bandanas and vip passes for the kids as a Welcome Station
We personalized each VIP Pass with all the kid's name so when they arrived, they could wear it and officially be part of #SammyFest
They loved the idea and made them feel super exclusive & cool!
Once they had their VIP Pass, they were sent to the Tattoo Station aka Happy Tatts.
From tattoos to rhinestones to colorful markers, they had the option to choose their own design and have the tattoo artist (aka Birthday Girl's big brother) put it on them. There was not a clean face in that party!
My oh so crafty husband built two boho style tables to incorporate the whole seating on pillows for the kids and them having a designated area to work on the crafts. (FIY: they are now part of our Inventory!)
One of my favorite activities was the bracelet making. The kids went to town when it came to designing their own bracelets. It also surprised me that it had 80% of the kids seating down for a good 30-45mins very concentrated making their bracelets. Most of the parents thank me for that!
Coming up with the perfect backdrop for this party was a little challenging since I knew I wanted to spell "SAMMY FEST" in our 2ft marquee letters, so the backdrop needed to be bigger than usual. But after a little Pinterest research, we decided in a mixture of a Ferris wheel backdrop, with some Palm Trees in our Hedge Backdrop, a Mini Van, and a teepee.
Cake & Desserts:
Cake was provided my trusted cake lady: Nissi Cake, best homemade cakes!
Cupcakes were done by me and the popcorn & donut holes were put together by Birthday Girl's mom!
If there was one ONE thing I needed to have in the desserts was Cotton Candy, because what festival doesn't have some?
We could not let pass the opportunity to have a photo opp for all the guests, so our friend Neydi let us borrow her boho backdrop & chair and we just added some cute balloons.
Our Bar Stand its always a big hit! Wether is used for Palomas or Margaritas or in this case: Snow Cones Station. My mom is a pro when it comes to making the best homemade snow cones syrups. All Natural and delicious! The menu consisted on: Strawberry w/ Chamoy, Coconut with Cajeta and Lime for the kiddos.
The Birthday Girl's dad made Nachos & Tacos for everybody!
We ended the night with a dance party! We took a tv out and put some youtube videos that kids now days dance to! lol!
